INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR OS/2 V2.1 and OS/2 FOR WINDOWS

NOTE: Please make a backup copy of this diskette prior to installation of
these drivers. Use the Diskcopy utility when a backup diskette is made.
The Installation Diskette Volume Label must be OS-2.

1. Boot real DOS and run the SETMODE utility. Using the SETMODE
utility, configure your Stealth 32 for use with your monitor. If you
have any questions about SETMODE, please consult your Stealth 32
Users Manual. DO NOT RUN SETMODE FROM A DOS SESSION UNDER OS/2!

2. Boot OS/2 (you must be using the VGA driver). If you are not sure
if you are using the VGA driver, please see page 336 of the OS/2
manual, and follow the "Preparing to Switch to a Different Display
Adapter" instructions. Open the OS/2 SYSTEM folder, then COMMAND
PROMPTS, and open either an OS/2 Windowed or Full-Screen command
        prompt.

3. Insert the Stealth 32 OS/2 Installation diskette in your drive A
or B. Again, this disk must be labeled OS-2.

---------------------------------------------------------
|IF YOU HAVE A GATEWAY COMPUTER:
| Type:
| A: [enter]
| GATEWAY A: C: [enter]
|
| Where A: is the drive with the Stealth 32 Installation diskette,
| and C: is the drive where OS/2 is installed.
|
| Now remove the Stealth 32 Installation diskette from drive A:,
| Shut Down your system, reboot your computer, follow
| steps 2 and 3 again and continue with step 4 below.
---------------------------------------------------------

4. Change to the drive that your Stealth 32 install disk is in. Then
run the INSTALL utility, specifying the install disk's drive, and
your OS/2 disk drive. for example:
                A: [enter]
                INSTALL A: C: [enter]
Where A: is the drive with the Stealth 32 Installation diskette,
and C: is the drive with OS/2 installed.

5. If the 'Help Not Available' message appears just click OK.

6. The first screen will allow you to select Primary Display, or
Secondary Display. Click on Primary Display, then click OK.

7. The next screen allows you select the driver to install. Stealth 32
should already be highlighted, but click on it anyway. Then click on
        OK.

8. The next screen will give you the option to install using defaults
for monitor, or a display adapter utility program. Select Install
        Using Display Adapter Utility Program.

9. The next screen will be the Utility Location Window. Click on the
Locate button. A standard OS/2 file open window will appear. The
file you are looking for is the SETMODE.EXE utility. This is normally
found in the C:\S32\UTIL\ directory. Once you have located the file,
click on OK. This will return you to the Utility Location Window.
The full path to the SETMODE.EXE utility will be displayed. Click at
the end of the line, then type a space, followed by the word MONITOR.
It should look similar to the following:

        C:\S32\UTIL\SETMODE.EXE MONITOR

        Now Click on OK.

10. The screen should flash several times as it cycles through some mode
changes. A screen should then appear with a list of resolutions.
Pick one of the resolutions supported by your Stealth 32, then
        click OK.

11. There should now be a window prompting you for the drive where the
Stealth 32 drivers are located. Make sure the Stealth 32 OS/2 driver
disk is in the drive, then select that drive, and click OK. the
necessary files will be copied over, and the necessary configuration
        files modified.

12. Once the files have been copied over, exit from the OS/2 command
prompt, then shutdown OS/2 and reboot the system. OS/2 should now
come up in the resolution that you selected in step 10 above.

You may also reference installation instructions in the OS/2 Version 2.1
Installation guide.

                WIN-OS2 FULL SCREEN REFRESH RATES

To set up WIN-OS2 Full screen refresh rates do the following:

1. Open the OS/2 System Editor. This is usually found in the
OS/2 System Productivity folder, which can be found in the
        OS/2 System folder.

2. Edit the Autoexec.bat file found in the root directory of your OS/2
drive and add this line to the end of the autoexec.bat file.

        C:\S32\UTIL\SETMODE.EXE MONITOR
Where c is the drive that OS/2 is installed.

3. Shutdown and reboot.

NOTES:
During the installation, if the install routine cannot find the driver disk,
the volume label may not be correct. The correct volume label is: OS-2. To
label your diskette, open any command prompt and type:
label a: [enter]
OS-2 [enter]
Where a is the drive containing the diskette to be labeled.

LIMITATIONS:
These drivers will NOT work if you have installed the CSD (Corrective Service
Diskettes). This is a limitation of the Tseng ET4000w32p driver code. The
generic Tseng Et4000w32p drivers have this same limitation. Tseng is working
on this issue.
