Subject: [*] ACE! 1.0 - An extendible 'save-game' editor

ACE! allows you to edit the 'save game' documents created by many
commercial and shareware games (these documents are referred to as
'characters' by some games). Additionally, ACE! allows you to print details
of these save games.

Initially, you can edit the save games from 'Bard's Tale', 'Doom' (1, 2 and
Ultimate), 'Foobar vs the DEA', 'Heroes of Might & Magic', 'King's Bounty',
'Mantra', 'Marathon' (1, 2, Infinity, Excalibur and Evil), 'Might and
Magic' (1, 2 and 3), 'Pathways into Darkness', 'Realmz', 'Ultima III',
'Unlimited Adventures', 'Wizardry Gold' and 'Yipe! III'. However, ACE! can
be extended to edit other save games through the use of plug-in 'modules'.

ACE! is freeware.

ACE! will run on any Macintosh or MacOS compatible computer. It requires
System 7.0 or higher, a minimum of 350k of disc space, and about 640k of
free RAM.

ACE! is distributed as a fat binary, meaning that it runs native on both
68k and PPC processors.

Subject: [*] CyberAssistant 1.3

This is an update to the CyberAssisant Control Panel.

CyberAssistant is a Control Panel that gives your Macintosh a
personality. It takes advantage of Apple's PlainTalk=81 software, giving
your Macintosh a voice with which to speak. You can have your system
speak to you each time it is started, have your system speak to you when
it has been idle for too long, or speak the time each half-hour.
CyberAssistant is customizable, allowing you to turn on and off each
option as you see fit.

CyberAssistant is not just a voice for your computer, but also an
assistant. It can alert you at startup when your startup disk falls
below a certain amount of disk space. It can also configure certain
aspects of your system at startup so that you can more reliably count on
your system being configured a certain way. For example, CyberAssitant
can turn on or off file sharing at startup, set the color depth of you
main monitor, and empty the trash. These options are all performed at
startup, allowing you to count on your system starting up in a
consistent way (a real nice feature for those who share systems with
multiple users).

Program: Finder View Settings 1.0.1 FAT
Author: Alessandro Levi Montalcini <alm@kagi.com>
Price: $10 (shareware)
Register: http://order.kagi.com/?67
Download: http://persoweb.francenet.fr/~alm
           ftp://ftp.alpcom.it/software/mac/LMontalcini

Finder View Settings makes it much easier to manage the new
MacOS 8 folder-specific view settings. It can globally override
all of your folder-specific view settings, making MacOS 8 behave
more like System 7, or easily change the requested view settings
for single folders or entire disks.

To globally override the view settings, Finder View Settings
must be stored in the Control Panels folder so it can patch the
System at startup. You can then enable or disable the Finder
overriding option with the appropriate check box in the main
window.

To permanently change the view settings for a given set of
folders, you can drop them on the Control Panel's icon or into
the main window. Finder View Settings doesn't have to be in the
Control Panels folder for this to work.

New in version 1.0.1:

- Fixed a nasty incompatibility with File Sharing.
- Added support for Mac OS 8.0.1.

This is version 2.0.2 of Flush It!, a small disk cache management utility
application that allows you to control when and how often your RAM-based
disk cache gets written out to disk.

This version fixes a bug in the settings code which prevented time
intervals selected from the popup menu by mouse from activating the
"Apply" button. Also changed was initialization code that threw systems
incompatible with Flush It! into the debugger. Added a feature where, if
the "Hide settings in background" is selected, Flush It! will launch with
the settings window open.

The technical basis for the application, operating instructions, and
shareware information are all contained in the included Read Me file.

Flush It! 2.0.2 is $3.00 US shareware with a thirty-day free evaluation

NoDesktopCleanup is a cool control panel that lets you add a
confirmation dialog or a KeyQuencer macro to any menu item in
any application. The unusual name comes from the original task
I wrote this control panel for, i.e. disabling the annoying
"Clean Up Desktop" and "Clean Up All" menu items in the Finder,
which often make one's life miserable by moving all the icons
on the desktop away from their carefully chosen locations.

New in 1.5:

- Added window name checking to support the new Mac OS 8
  Finder menu items.

OS8 CMM Expansion Pack version 1.1

The OS8 CMM Expansion Pack was written to expand the functionality of the
MacOS8 contextual menu which is acessed by holding down the control key
while clicking on anything in the OS8 Finder. Two plugins are provided,
Finder Info 1.0 and Set Custom Icon 1.1. Additionally, the pack includes a
small utility, Visibility 1.0.

The Set Custom Icon 1.1 plugin lets you quickly and easily change custom
icons on files, folders, applications and drives. Simply control-click on
the icon and you will see a Custom icon item and submenu appear, choices
include cut, copy, clear and paste depending on whether or not a custom
icon is present or on the clipboard. Much more pleasant than the old
fashioned way of going through the Get Info dialog. Future enhancements
will include the ability to paste PICT files as well as icons.

The Finder Info 1.0 plugin is likely to be of more interest to programmers
as it allows you to toggle the Finder information bits such as the
Invisible and Custom Icon bits. Control-click on the icons in the Finder
and you will see a Finder info item whose submenu lists the bits and their
current values, select these to toggle on or off. Please use this with care
as this information is actually used by the Finder and misuse can cause
problems. I'd like to add creator and type code changing here as well but
I've yet to work out a nice interface.

Visibility 1.0 lets you select invisible files or folders and make them
visible. Simply launch the application, choose the file or folder and click
on the show button(s). Visibility will then quit having made the item
visible. This is a quick single focus utility so niceties such as menus etc
have been dispensed with.

Visibility is a Fat Binary application that will run on both 680x0 and
PowerPC Macintosh computers running System 7 or later. It needs only 400K
of RAM and occupies only 40K of disk space.

The Visibility utility will let you make a number of system files and
folders visible, I strongly suggest you do not do this unless you are
confident you know what you are doing. I accept no warranty for damage you
may do to your computer or time you waste as a result of using this
software.

This software is shareware, with the low fee of US$10 payable directly or
via Kagi. Please read the enclosed read me for details. The upgrade is free
to registered users of version 1.0.
